Hygienic surfaces

Hytect tiles can make a significant contribution to healthy living. This is because the innovative technology reduces bacteria, mold and germs, breaks down air pollutants and ensures that dirt can be removed effortlessly. Hytect works like a natural catalyst that develops its effect solely through the influence of light - and does so permanently. This is because Hytect is permanently baked into the tile and does not wear off. For a lasting quality of living.

How Hytect works

How it works

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is insolubly and permanently baked into the ceramic surface at high temperatures. As a catalyst that is not consumed, it triggers a light-activated reaction (photocatalysis) with oxygen and air humidity for practically its entire life. This produces activated oxygen and a hydrophilic, water-friendly ceramic surface. The activated oxygen now performs three crucial functions.

Antibacterial

When Hytect and light come together, oxygen is activated, which decomposes microorganisms such as bacteria, mold and germs. It feels good to have a home that protects us from pathogens.

Easy to clean

Thanks to the Hytect surface, dirt is simply rinsed away. This reduces cleaning effort and the use of cleaning agents. So you can devote yourself to the finer things in life and also protect the environment.

Improved indoor climate

Hytect triggers an air purification process in which both unpleasant odours and pollutants such as nitrogen oxides are neutralized. So that every member of the family and every guest can breathe easy.

Better air

Hytect neutralizes pollutants such as NOx or formaldehyde over the entire service life and actively ensures a better indoor climate. This has a particularly positive effect in modern buildings that are practically airtight thanks to insulation.
