A little manual skill certainly can't hurt, but as Drytile tiles are only laid and not glued, you don't need any special previous knowledge. You can find out more in our laying video.

In addition to a few standard household tools, you will need a tile cutter, a straightedge or long spirit level, a rubber mallet and a washing set with grouting board and sponge. You can find a list of all the tools required here.

Drytile tiles cannot be laid on walls. However, matching skirting boards are available for all Drytile floor tiles.

The only important thing is that the subfloor is even and clean. You can lay Drytile tiles on any smooth, stable subfloor such as screed, old tiling, parquet or vinyl. You can also find out more in our installation video or in our installation instructions.

Drytile can be laid in all living areas including kitchens, utility rooms, entrance areas, guest WCs and bathrooms without a floor drain, with a bathtub without a shower and with a shower tray including a shower enclosure. You can download more information on installation here.

Yes, Drytile tiles are particularly suitable for underfloor heating. The ceramic is very thermally conductive and the thin cork layer has no negative effect on it.

Only the special grout belonging to the Drytile system may be used to lay Drytile.

As soon as the grout has hardened (after 24 hours), you can clean the tile as normal with cleaning water and a standard household cleaner - just like any other tiled floor.

Drytile tiles make it possible to replace individual tiles without any major effort. Simply cut open the adjacent joints with a multitool, replace the damaged tile with a new one and grout again - it's that easy.
